Lajos Oláh Meets with Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress

On March 26, 2026, Lajos Oláh, Co-Chairman of the Europe-China Economic Cooperation and Development Council (ECECDC) and Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly, met with Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, in Beijing.

The two sides held in-depth exchanges on issues of mutual interest, including further consolidating and advancing the traditional friendship between China and Hungary, strengthening exchanges and cooperation at all levels between the two countries’ legislative bodies, and deepening practical cooperation in key areas such as economy and trade, people-to-people exchanges, and science and technology. They also reached broad consensus on further deepening China-Hungary friendly cooperation.
