The Europe–China Economic Cooperation and Development Council (ECECDC) is a European organization initiated by former European leaders, including former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Established in Europe with the core mission of promoting Europe–China relations, the Council also actively expands cooperative ties with countries in Central Asia and Southeast Asia. It is committed to building a diverse, interactive, and mutually beneficial bridge of exchange across the Eurasian continent, providing a solid platform for coordinated economic, trade, and cultural development among regions.

Through high-level dialogue mechanisms, the Council brings together business communities from Europe, China, and other parts of Asia to promote win-win cooperation among multiple stakeholders. Its work focuses on advancing constructive investment and development in the economic, cultural, and social fields, guiding the business community to play a key role in achieving global balance and sustainable development.

The Secretariat of the Council is permanently based in Madrid, Spain. Its main annual activities include organizing the Europe–China Former Senior Officials Dialogue to consult on and address regional economic and trade issues; convening cooperation and exchange summits among Europe, China, and six Central Asian countries to build regional multilateral dialogue platforms; and promoting mutual visits between European and Asian enterprises to create practical business opportunities. At the same time, the Council places emphasis on cultivating transnational entrepreneurial talent, encouraging youth innovation, and plans to establish a Europe–China Young Entrepreneurs Startup Fund to inject new momentum into future cooperation.
